This is the first chapter of a short story I wrote a long time ago, if it gets enough likes I've been considering getting around to continuing it. It is about a pair of bouty hunters, a Vampire and basically a werewolf who are set to work together, of course they are enemies by nature. Can they overcome their differences and bring down their target?

The Darkness of Beasts and Men
This is a short story about a young man and an incident he (somewhat) overcomes. This is a werewolf story, yes, but not a cliche-d one I hope, as it includes much more unhappiness and gore and such. There is no swearing, no nasty in-bed stuff, but there is gore. I mean, animal-mauling-blood-everywhere gore. Sorry, but in a werewolf reality, it would be rather dark and disturbing. If you do not like those things, please do not read for your own sake. Other than that, mild humor included. No idea if I'm going to write another story with the same sort of people or not, so I will get back to you later about that. Anyways, have fun and good luck. All characters' names and characteristics and fiction, I did not take them directly off somebody, so in cases of coincidence where you or someone you know looks like a character, my apologies, but I swear I didn't look up people and write their description. " I'm sure I can help you find whatever you need." He was slightly confused. "But what exactly have you lost?" "My mate." Silence. "Does she know you are looking for her?" "Oh yes, she knows." Camila started choking on her food. She tried to maintain her spluttering so she wouldn't draw attention to herself. Taine noticed and decided to keep going. His eyes bored into her. "She actually decided to run from me... I don't know if she was a coward or just too weak and selfish to even consider giving me chance." She threw her cutlery down and stood up, leaning over the table. Her teeth were bared and a low growl emitted from the back of her throat. She felt hairs rising on her arms and neck. Usually even-tempered, she was now bubbling with rage. Taine didn't react well to her growl and mirrored her pose. He was trying to put her in her place, into submission. She was not having it. --- Destiny's collide, they crash and they scar. Rough seas, tidal waves, fighting for dominance in an ocean so deep... **this book is completed!!** This is a story about werewolves with some witches and vampires thrown in. -Preview- I opened my eyes to see a woman standing in front of me. I don't know who this woman is or what's wrong. She has beautiful silver hair that's matted with leaves and sticks. Her face though beautiful is distraught, her face is a very creamy pale color. Her lips are as red as blood. She has tears running down her face and a bruise just below her left eye. She's holding my necklace. The moonlight shines on the single engraved word "Noel". "Take this." She says, "Noel! Take this and run. Put it around your neck and never, NEVER take it off. It will keep you safe." The woman hears something and turns around to look, then looks back at me with panic and sorrow in her eyes. I hear a male voice behind her mumbling something, I can't make out what he's saying. I can't make out the man's face as he walks up behind the woman and squeezes her shoulders. He takes the necklace wincing and slips it over my head. They're talking to me but I can't hear what they're saying. I only see the panic in their face. "Noel! RUN." I hear screams and growls as I'm running as fast as I can. I make it out of the woods and onto a street. I hear the woman's blood curdling scream before I'm blinded by a light and everything fades to darkness.Terminé

Then it hit me. The scent of my mate. The one I'd love and spend the rest of my days with. "Mine," he growled. I was forced up against the wall as he began to kiss me roughly.
