16 year old Carmina is a girl to be reckoned with, everyone surrounds her every breath with every step she takes. Everyone in her head that is.... she can't stop revolving her mind like a gun. One day they're memories, the next they're hallucinations, and Carmina can only do so much to prevent them becoming nightmares haunting her in sleep. She wakes up and the voices are still in the back of her head taunting her during school as the day goes by, comments uglier than the one before. Carmina tries to maintain the peace outside with the others as an attempt to contain the war within herself but she cannot withhold her frustration any longer. Carmina is desperate to find a way out..but at what cost? This is not your stereotypical underdog story about a girl rising from oblivion into the light but instead, a girl trying to survive the darkness within, even if it means letting go.

(Book one of the Family Tree) A girl who has to act perfect with her parents. Is bullied at school for being smart. Is wiped at home for being "stupid", "dumb", "fat" and many others. Finally, she is gives a choice to ditch that life for another one, which she does instantly. Sad enough, she just got deeper into a family problem.
