Eighteen year old Violet Moore suffered a change that included her father getting "murdered" and her mother going missing when "The Surge" happened. After going through numerous storms, she finds a safe place at connected compounds that's called the Misties tribe.
The Misties's tribe worst enemy is the Dark Auras. After the mysterious and deadly mechanical bugs and battles, she needs to find a way to keep herself safe from other mysterious tribes, too. Will she? After knowing that she is "special" for having powers, will she save her tribe from another terrible storm that will happen ahead? Will the whole tribe trust her?

Learn how a spirited and resourceful 12-year-old boy ousted his Plainsman oppressors in this prequel to the Forestfolk series. A little shoutout to maniacgirl for inspiring the title of this story. Though the events in this short story take place before Book 1 in the series, I recommend reading it AFTER you finish "Siena." I think it will be more satisfying that way, because then you'll understand the little Book 1 references I've planted here and there. Finally, the format of the title and cover for this story is different from the rest of the series. That's because I consider this to be bonus material rather than a continuation of the series.
