Treacherous

Bruises adorn her once perfect skin. Her long, blond hair no longer hangs down around her shoulders as it used to. Tubes have been stuck into every vein possible and she's as white as a sheet.
He sits at her bedside, afraid to touch her, in fear that he'll hurt her again. Or more so, that his presence will harm her.
Because of course, all of this was his fault.

He shatters her, and even though she won't let it show, she breaks. He finds someone else, someone apparently 'better'. But the one thing his friends can't understand is that he's just as messed up, just as broken without her. Since he shattered her he's... changed. He barely leaves his room. He barely eats anymore. If his phone goes off, his eyes become alert and fear spreads in them. There's not a second that passes where his eyes aren't rimmed with red or filled with tears.
He's going insane. Why?
