Michael Cook is a 14 year old boy who dreams of becoming a world famous author and poet. In his first year at Johnstown high school, Mike gets his chance when the school hosts a poetry competition, whose winner will ultimately move on to the Nation wide junior poetry competition. In the middle of the year Michael is also faced with a new challenge as a new girl joins the school whom Michael is slowly but steadily attracted to.
