Twice is a multi-national girl group formed by JYP Entertainment through the 2015 reality show Sixteen. Selected from a pool of sixteen JYP trainees, the group includes five members from South Korea, three from Japan, and one from Taiwan. The group is composed of nine members: Nayeon, Jeongyeon, Momo, Sana, Jihyo, Mina, Dahyun, Chaeyoung, and Tzuyu. The name Twice was chosen because members will be able to "wow their fans once through their ears and twice through their eyes." They debuted on October 20, 2015, with the mini-album The Story Begins. On December 2, less than two months after their debut, Twice was nominated for Artist of the Year and awarded Best New Female Artist at the 2015 Mnet Asian Music Awards.
