It's 2650 M.C.E. (Modern Common Era).  Earth is a devastated ruin, abandoned after political, economic and societal collapse.  The collapse of Earth was so sudden that little or no history was passed from the old world to the new world.  Mars, the new home world of humanity, has factions fighting to dominate each other.   

The Federation of Martian States, the leading power of Mars has developed Time Travel, but there is a catch.  So has someone else, or so it appears.  Whoever they are has gone back through time to attempt to alter the past to change the present.   

The present is no longer safe as Charlotte and David, both highly intelligent and capable are sent back to find the mystery time travelers and prevent the timeline for being altered.   The Earth they visit, they have no knowledge of it's customs or way of life.  The technology of the world they enter is light years behind their own.    

Meanwhile in 2650, their boss Commissioner Thompson must struggle to find the person or persons who are working to alter the timeline, and he might not like what he finds.  He will be challenged with deception and deceit all while dealing with the mundane operational tasks of running the Department of Historical Records a deep cover operations name for his countries Time Travel program.  No one can be trusted...

The council says that they have a plan; they said that in order to prevent the death of more innocent people they will test every man, woman, and child for signs of the virus. Any person found to have been infected will be quarantined, the ones who die will be given a proper burial while the ones who survive are deemed carriers and are to be sent to the home planet to prevent further outbreak. I was prepared for the people I know and some I love being taken away for the greater good, but I never would have expected that among the list of people being taken from my community, that I would be one of them.. I survived the quarantine. Now for the survival of my planet I, and the other Carriers must be sent to the home planet. I'm going back to Earth. Once in the facility, Evita is tagged as a test subject and loses all say over what happens to her body. She has to escape. By the time she comes up with a plan there is only one problem. Evita isn't ready to leave.
