Manhattan, 2016.
Meet Macy Waters, the normal teenage girl who at 17 is just trying to do well in her studies and get into a good college. She doesn't have much time for partying, and if she did it's not like her parents would notice.
But one night, as Macy is on another run for her obnoxious older sister- by only one minute, not like it matters- she watches a robbery unfold in front of her eyes. The culprit doesn't get long before a mysterious superhero apprehends him, and before Macy can learn more, he's just gone.
Determined that she can actually do something with her time than twirl her pencil and practice her SAT vocabulary, Macy decides that she would devote her spare time to training at the 24 hour gym just down the street from her apartment in the late hours, making her own costume and- if needed -weapons, all while struggling to find the other superhero she met that first night in the drugstore and learn his identity.
But things aren't like they are cracked up to be in the comic books, and Macy makes some enemies quickly.
Can this normal 17 year old girl be like those she has always admired- confident, smart, and most of all, brave?
After all, anything is possible- as long as you wear a mask.
