"Wait! I'm sorry!" He ran up to me engulfing me in his muscular arms. I know that this was just for his wolf. After breathing in my scent he pushed me away. I didn't miss the glimmer of regret in his eyes, though.
"Sorry for what?! Rejecting me so that you can marry my sister? And then rejecting me again after pretending to want me?! You are a shitty excuse for even a pathetic mutt!" I spat out at him, ignoring the fireworks igniting my skin where he touched. But - oh!- his eyebrows furrowed and he noticeably cringed.
"I really am sorry. I love you - please forgive me!" I was captivated by his beautiful green eyes and really wanted to believe him. Would it be so bad just to give in for once? Maybe this time he will tell my sister the truth and-
My thoughts were cut short and I inhaled with a deep gasp at his next words. "I still need to marry your sister. But we could still be together - not officially in papers, but at least physically."
My jaw must have dropped to the floor.
"You fucking bastard! I will never allow you to just use me for sex! Fuck you!" With those last words I ran away with him. Unfortunately, as I left I felt a huge pain go through me. He had literally just emotionally shot me. His offer was really just a trigger disguised with gold. Of course, I put on a brave face, but once I got inside my car, all my walls collapsed and I sobbed with all that my heart could handle. It really couldn't handle anything now, though.

My Mother Runs With Wolves

51 parts Complete

A genetically unique but emotionally lost teenager must figure out who she is within her mixed-up, warring world of Shifters and Wolfstalkers. ***** It wasn't Maddie's choice to be born a half-breed, half Shifter, half Wolfstalker -- a hunter of Shifters -- and it wasn't her choice to keep her identity a secret. But after trying to attend high school like any normal sixteen-year-old, things quickly spiral south when her Stalker uncle finds out about her and catapults her out of anonymity and into the awareness--or possibly the crosshairs--of The Order of the Wolfstalker. Maddie must think fast and figure out a way to keep herself and her family safe, or risk losing everything. Including her life. [[word count: 70,000-80,000 words]]
