They must live in the forest like animals, even that, is being taken away from them the humans has "hunting" parties just for them. Those inhuman parties are just the beginning of tragedies are going affect the elves.
One person wants to stop that from happening to save them from extinction: Leliana.
Leliana is the daughter of the Emperor of the Elven people. The one who does anything to save her people. The one who loathes humans more than anything, however willing to work with them if helps her people.
