Mary is a young girl around the age of 15 in a rather young world. To us, it is known as the world of Pokemon, though in a medieval setting. But to Mary and the other humans, they are only known as creatures. The world is not made up of regions, but of kingdoms and feuding clans, vying for power over each other at the cost of these creatures lives and many human lives as well. This is the story of how the world changed into the world of Pokemon we know today.
