guardian [gahr-dee-uh n] - noun
1. a person who guards, protects, or preserves.
In our Universe, each planet has a protector, or - as humans tend to call them- a Guardian. These are godlike beings, tasked with the preservation of the celestial balance. Most of these creatures tend not to meddle with the lives of lesser beings, choosing to interfere only in critical situations. There are some, however, that regard other species with interest and involve themselves in the evolution of their planet.
One such example was the Guardian of the Earth, who went by the name of Eryl. For humans were intriguing creatures: though some were granted the powers of the stars, the rulers were the mundane and the extraordinary chose to keep their gifts from the others.
In a society that yearned for power, Eryl fell in love with a daughter of Terra. And from their love a girl was born, that held the power of the entire galaxy in her baby hands. But their happiness ended before it properly started. The Guardian simply vanished one day and his lover knew that she could not protect the proof of their love by herself. And so, she sealed the little girl's powers and gave the baby to a couple of average humans. She visited them, from time to time, making sure that no other being knew of the child's roots.
But of course, tragedy struck in the most unexpected way.
