Mackenzie Jackson is a lonely girl, with the woods near her house being her only savoir. She loves the woods- the changing colors in fall, the snow on the branches in winter, the sweet smell of honey in spring, and the gentle heat of the summer. But, she barely knows what lurks in those woods- and if she had known, she would have steered clear and never gone back without a second thought.
But, when she comes face-to-face with the monsters within the woods, she realizes that they may not be much monsters after all. And if she can learn to love again, she may realize that the beings in the woods are far from a monster, even farther from monsters then what she thought was possible.
