The Girl Who Was Against the World

There once lived a young girl whose life ended the moment it started.
Her parents were merchants, while at sea they had crossed paths with a group of notorious pirates. The pirates boarded their ship and threatened to take their lives.
That was until they offered their newborn child in return for letting the escape.

The Pirates accepted the offer, allowing the merchants to get away. Instead of killing the child, the Pirates raised it as one of their own. They named her Asa, which meant born at dawn. It resembled her rebirth from the moment she entered their ship.
