Soul mates. Two people destined to be in a romantic relationship. Ava Rowe hasn't met her soul mate. Well, technically not in a physical form. If your soul mate dies before you meet them, they become your guardian angel of sorts. Their spirit is absorbed into yours, almost as an anchor to you. If you die, they go with you, and you two can live in peace. They watch over you and take necessary precautions to ensure your safety.
Ava's soul mate died in a subway accident one month before destiny was to put them together. Spirits that are born out of a violent death happen to have flashbacks of their death and can feel everything felt at the time their spirit awoken. The pain, grief, frustration. It was all too much for her guardian angel to bear. He became rouge. Anytime anyone so much as laid a finger on Ava, just a high five, her angel would attack them. Attack with superhuman strength. So far, he has killed twenty five people.
