Emotions are only Expresions

My protector is Knight. His gleaming, midnight black fur whips violently back against the wind. I cling onto him with all of my might, willing myself to keep looking forward. We dodge trees faster than a bullet and leap over fallen logs. The musky scent of cinnamon returns to my nose. Knight smells it too. He runs faster than the human eye can see but I’m no, human neither is he. We feel surrounded as Knight backs up against an oak tree and growls a low deep warning. A boy about my age, who is 12, steps in front of us. A man steps possessively next to him. The words I have always dreaded were spoken out of his red lips, “I’ve found you."
