What if you knew the exact time you were going to die. Every human was destined to die at a certain time. The goal in life is to make the life you have the best it can be before you die. Death can come in different forms like being murdered to a freak accident. You are told your death date when you reach the age of sixteen years old. Some people never make it to sixteen. To keep the population going, marriages are chosen by the fathers of the two people. Each couple has to have at least three children. If you come from a poor family, the government gives you the bare materials to live a decent life.

They don't about the ghost of a girl peaking around corners for her entire life because even home wasn't safe. They don't know about the fighter of steel and iron sucking on his bloody lip courtesy of the wars he battles in as nothing but a shadow. They don't know about the masked villain who would do anything to see the army they lead claim the throne They don't know about us. But they will, because we will rise. She's lived the last 20 years trying not dwell on the traumatic hardships of her past as they constantly replay in the back of her mind. Said laughter coming out light and amused at first, but then turns into such twisted amusement it causes a spike of anxiety in the younger woman. It's almost like it's all a sick joke to him at the moment. "...Uh, I- I ain't- I ain't- I ain't gonna kill nobody." He chuckles as he looks around at no one in particular with a twinkle in his eyes, taking a deep breath. "Nah, man. But this little... Fling... Y'all got going on... Fo' sure. Most definitely."
