I'm supposed to be dead, yet here I am-- still breathing.
Before the revolution, I was the kingdom's darling, the Princess. Now, I am forgotten, another face among the sea of civilians.
When the sovereign of Ameritus dies, a tattoo appears on the wrist of the next ruler. My uncle has tricked everyone; he claims he is the Chosen One, flaunting a intricate design of a crown on his wrist. Only I know better than to believe him. After all, I am the one who had a tattoo burn itself on my wrist.
Seven years after my uncle took the throne by force, I'm out for vengeance. For my family, for myself and for a kingdom that has been fooled, I must regain the throne.

Everything was gone. I sobbed, my clothes ripped and I was bleeding, but it didn't matter. I had to get to her, to them. I took a second look and saw white hair, caked with dirt, and yellow eyes, blue veins sparking in their depths. All at once, I remembered who I was. Nothing in my life had ever made sense. They told me it was normal, I'd grow into who I was supposed to be, that things would get better; here I am now, going through the motions and wondering if this was really what I was destined to do for the rest of my life. Turns out, it wasn't. Nothing in my life had ever made sense but that was because my memories were fractured, pieces of a person I used to be, one I used to know lurking in the shadows of my dreams. It sounded crazy but I knew it was real and getting there, finding her and fixing the bridge that I'd unwittingly burned was going to be hard but I was ready to be more than a desk jockey typing my life away.
