Penelope Gilbert, the eldest of the Gilbert children has just suffered the loss of her first child Hope, or so everyone thinks. While Hope is away Penelope, Klaus and Elijah plan to clean up their city of New Orleans to make it safe for Hope's return. But nobody says facing a pack of empowered werewolves ruled by witches was easy. Penelope is determined to wipe this city clean of possible adversaries that want to hurt Hope. But transitioning into a hybrid, her big sister Hayley and brother in law Jackson having gone AWOL, oh and not to mention the love triangle she is caught in between two brothers. With all of these bumps in the road, her goal to get Hope back home safely, will prove harder than she thought.
