Diana Truman is beautiful, rich, clever, and a princess. She is loved by everyone and is said to have the perfect life. But, her life is far from perfect. With her mother being a control freak who is forcing her to get married at only nineteen, Diana is left in a dilemma. She doesn't know what to do and falling in love with a mystery man during her first ball and meeting the first person to hate her, a boy by the name of Alex, doesn't help. Yearning for freedom, Diana soon begins a quest to get some. But what she doesn't realize is that with freedom comes the truth she isn't ready for. The truth that make her life seem like one big facade.

She must find the strength to get close to the prince, or else the mysterious faerie will send her back to the mines and her dreadful family. Once the clock strikes midnight... she must fulfill her end of the bargain. Once the clock strikes midnight... her hands must be red with the prince's blood.
