Death the Kid has a beautiful voice, which he exploits in a band comprised of his childhood friends named "Crimson Heart." He never expected to make it big, but as it turns out, people love their music. Now the poor boy can't go anywhere without getting recognized by hoards of fangirls.
Soul Evans is a pianist searching for a steady job with like-minded people. Soul is among the first to find out when Crimson Heart's keyboardist quits. He lands an impromptu audition backstage and is announced as the newest member of the band a couple weeks later.
Kid has a hard time adapting at first, and ends up acting bipolar around the new member; sometimes being his usual smart and sassy self, and other times a shy, quiet, and dumbfounded boy... He doesn't know why (*cough* a huge gay crush *cough*) just that it's Soul's fault.
