In the seven years since Ganondorf's successful coup of Ocarina of Time's Hyrule and its Royal Family, much is unknown of Zelda's whereabouts and her transformation into Sheik, the shadowy persona she uses to hide from the King of Evil. While Link sleeps in the Sacred Realm, Hyrule burns, its residents scatter, and a new reign is anchored. Just as Link had been too young to wrest his destiny and save Hyrule, Zelda, too, needs time. Time to grow, time to process her self-perceived failures as a princess, and time to grieve. But in that time, how does she evolve herself into the mysterious Sheikah warrior that Link will come to know and trust when he awakens? What trials does she overcome, what people does she encounter along the way, and what lessons is she forced to learn?
