Definition of a Woman

Shoewayla is a young fourteen year old girl with a lot on her plate. Finding herself in the middle of a war between the Modamaway, her home tribe, and The Tohad, a tribe created by exiled men, she is fighting to survive as her and her young brother Layic make their way to the Western Opeacka Tribe. Sadly they find themselves face to face with Tohad warriors and what happens next will change her life forever.
Excerpt:
I froze, his dark brown eyes staring at me. Red, black, and white war paint made lines across his face and bare chest, he smirked, cynically before letting out a cry, "Wooahi" and the leaves began to rustle as two other men came into view. One grabbed Layic holding him under his arm as he squirmed and tried to free himself. "Oohad ahi." The man holding him said meaning strong one. I screamed pleading him to release Layic. As the young man grabbed my arm lifting me up off the ground, I winced in pain, "Don't worry," He said cockiness covering his tone, "He won't hurt him." He laughed.
I jerked away only for him to tighten his grip on my arm. He pressed his body against mine looking deep into my eyes before hoisting my frail frame up and into his arms. His hand firmly grabbed onto my thighs and shoulders. He nodded to the others and walked off into the forest.
