At seventeen, I was found guilty for murder. Guilty. The word that consumes any piece of identity I once had and reminds me of how drastically a life can change in a matter of seconds. Being incarcerated for murder maintains a permanent hold on you, even when new evidence comes to light. Evidence that proves you are innocent, that you were always innocent, only after the damage is done.

For those who put me there, it's only been three years- but I'm not the same person anymore.

His eyes had started to see me differently. That desire I saw on his eyes on the lift scared me a bit though. I never noticed the blackness of his eyes. Black is a rare color. He had the rare colored eye which shone at moments like when we kissed. And it was starting to drown me in them. But when my head processed to what I was getting into, I pushed him away.
