Anna Kensworth used to be happy. She used to smile a lot and laugh at practically anything, but life threw her for a loop when both of her parents were tragically killed in a car accident two months into her junior year of high school. Her grief immediately consumes her and all she wants to do is disapear. Without having any other known relatives Anna is shipped off to Northtown's Home for Children in North Carolina. The kids at the foster home are nice, some are a little weird, and one in particular is flat out creepy. While at school she is afraid to let her guard down and she trusts practicaly no one, besides maybe a girl with issues just as bad as her and a boy with gorgeous brown eyes that pulls an emotion out of her that she thought she had buried deep inside herself after her parents died. But the ugly question still remains. Can Anna can pull herself out of the darkness she has been living in or will she have no choice but to let it consumer her.
