"Promise me you'll find me!"
"I promise, but h-hhow am I going to find you?"
“Here!” his hand searched through his pockets and tossed me a big, black rusty key, “You can find me with it, whenever you need me, I'll be waiting . . . Bye Lyla” With that he let go, his dad pulling him outside, running, disappearing from sight before I had a chance to ask what to do with the key.
It had been 11 years since Lyla had seen Dylan and now she was turning 17, with a promise never been made- everything changed. When Lyla finally finds out what to do with the key, she flees from her awful life to where her life had been once happy- she was going to find Dylan. After traveling across the country and struggling to find him, what happens when he isn't what she thought he'd be? What happens when he doesn't even remember her at all?
So how did this all happen? Find out.
