It isn't normal for a young adult to be kidnapped by another young adult. Questionably, how was it able to be done? If the 'napper was just as strong as the victim, you'd think there would be a battle, no? To be fair, that DID happen; for a couple of seconds at least until the victim was knocked out with a fairly strong sedative. Strong enough to almost sweep off ten elephants off of their feet. 

Once taken, there isn't an escape. The victim believes they are the only one who is in their situation.
