In The Wind

A roar echoed throughout the valley, shaking every needle of the great pine tree and every brick of the huts. It shook the glass of the window panes and even the legs of the small children.
It didn't shake Callie. She stood tall on the hill, staring out at the great blue sky on her tip-toes, searching for just a glimpse of the beast. For she was not afraid, but intrigued and excited. It was new. And she did not get new very often.
