Accused of a crime that she has not done, Fray Light, an Undying, is sent to Chimeara---a district surrounded with insurmountable walls and a a land of struggle, chaos, death and isolation. But her being there doesnt seem to be so unusual at all since she meets bands of creatures who were sent in the district---under accusations of false bases. They all want to learn the real reason why they were given such treatment. Sounds easy? Fray thinks so too but the fact of joining a band seems to be the most important quest on the list she must first accomplish for if she chooses wrong, Angels would have really killed her...

(Originally named "The Fair Maiden's Quest") The Fair Maiden, as most of the men of the land call her, was a royal guard. She was known as the most beautiful woman. However she did not want to get married seeing how her past had never seen a marriage go right. Being a guard, there's a lot of responsibility. She mustn't show much emotion, and she usually keeps to herself. Another one of those responsibilities for Gunnhild was finding out why a strange portal that appeared outside of her town of Altan. On the same day she finds this portal, an elf named Iznik comes around. As the others do, he flirts with the Fair Maiden. However, soon after hearing that the scholars cannot figure out certain puzzles and clues, he ends up helping Gunnhild and the kingdom during the harsh times. However, as the Fair Maiden learns more about the troubles of the village, she learns more about why there is chaos and destruction in the world and Underworld and tries to find a way to solve it. But no matter what she does, no one can help her through this situation. All she can do is take simple hints from the creatures of the woods. Who knows what responsibilities lie ahead.
