Rose is not like other people her age. Her parents gave her away to adoption when she was younger, not young enough not to remember, unfortunately. Now she lives with her foster father and his too-young to be married pregnant girlfriend, Hilary, and her twin brother James. Now it's their first day at their new school, and Rose can't help but notice the weirdness of it all. After mistakingly accusing her first acquaintance of being a witch, Rose becomes unwillingly popular among her new friend Alisa's group of friends. Between fighting her own darkness inside and avoiding the weirdness of her new unwanted friends, its going to be a pretty interesting year for this strange new girl.
