17 year old Sam is forced to leave behind her childhood and all the memories in it after her parents go through a traumatic divorce over summer. Her dad moves away to proceed his career while her mom takes her to a small town in Kentucky called Ryland Heights. It's a big change from big city Chicago. Not to mention, her senior year is going to be spent with strangers.
She holds her head high trying to be confident on the outside, but terrified on the inside as she becomes the "New Girl" Sam isn't like most girls, she isn't that outgoing and she tends to keep to herself. But will someone find there way past the wall she put up?
Sam is in for it as she experiences several "firsts" her first Kiss, first time in 7 minutes of heaven, first love, first time sneaking out, and several more firsts. With much apprehension she hopes for the best, but inside, fears for the worst. "Oh well," she says, "daddy's always said, come on Sammy girl, there's nothing to it, you just gotta do it."
