Alexandria Smedger a seventeen year old, middle child, of a family of four, is struggling to find peace in her small home in Pensacola Beach, Florida. Because of one problem. Alex has a heart condition called Congenital Heart Defect. With how serious Alex's heart condition has gotten, she only has eight months to live and the only cure will be a heart transplant given by someone with the same blood type as Alex. This someone is Beckum Willson, a boy who has had a crush on Alex since the fifth grade. Will Beckum give his life for the person he loves or watch her go?

The Silence Between Us
After an accident in eighth grade, Louisa Kelley was blind. Every day was a struggle for her as she tried to adjust to life both at school and at home, but life got easier with practice.
