Young Alice ventures into a graveyard at night to prove an old wive's tale wrong, but littlw does she knows of what lays ahead of her.
I wrote this for Lit and Comp Honors in school this year as a vocabulary response to The Fall of the House of Usher by Edgar Allen Poe. This Story is only a page long (it is a short story) so please take like, two minutes out of your day to read and let me know what you think! :) Anything would be gladly accepted and I would appeciate any constructive advice! :) Thanks a bundle!

The Girl Next Door

The awakening
"We've just moved here." I said. The woman looked sadly at me. "I hope you change your mind." she replied and walked away. *** Adam and his children have moved into an old abandoned mansion. The reason why they moved, was because he wanted to give himself and his children a fresh start. The murder of his little sister Annabelle and the divorce of his ex-husband took a heavy toll on him. Adam started drinking and doing drugs to cope with the pain. He named his youngest daughter after his sister to honor her. A woman passed him with her dog. She ask him to move out, because it's haunted. A horrible event took placed in that house many years ago. Adam doesn't believe her. Pretty soon, Max starts hearing child laughter and a lullaby at night. She tells it to her dad, but Adam says she has to stop watching horror movies. But what they don't know is that the woman was right. The house is possessed by evil spirits. The story threatens to be retold if they're not careful. There's a lot of secrets that live in this house, so many bad things happened that would give you nightmares. After a tragedy that changed the community forever the house was abandoned. Luke is a ghost who is bound to this house he can't leave and he can't move on until he get closure. Now after all this time someone is finally moving in. My name is Jess, People think I'm weird I guess because I'm antisocial but if they knew the reason why I am the way I am they would understand .
