Diane and her sister Renee have been on the run ever since they were sixteen and witnessed the murder of both their parents. Up until that moment, they never took their emergency drills seriously: hide in the tunnels, get the folder, and leave for Canada. Stick together, be smart, and trust no one. Having crossed the border nearly two years ago, the twins have never stayed in one city for more than three months, sometimes cutting their time even shorter when they sensed Mind Corp. wasn't far behind.

Diane has seen was Mind Corp can do. Her on-the-run lifestyle can be credited to their experiments performed on the twins in their youth; experiments that accidentally left them with the ability to read into even the most buried secrets a person hides. She always thought her worst fear was falling back into their hands, experiencing in person the nightmares that still haunt her at night, until she comes back the their motel room one day only to find Renee gone. Not long after, she starts getting messages from Mind Corp. themselves.

Diane has never been one to listen to anyone outside her family, but now she has no choice. Unaware of the entirety of the situation, Diane decides to risk it all to go after her sister, completely blind to the upcoming struggle of control and the horrible consequences to follow.
