One day, Kaia walks in the woods, thinking of everything on her mind. When she realizes how far she's gotten, she tries to find her way back. Unfortunately, that gets her even more lost. So, she heads east, like her mom always told her to do in case she got lost. She walks until she sees a camp over on the hill, but, it looks...um, more destroyed than anything. When she goes on the quest she is accompanied by Percy and her new friend kat. They go into a big battle and many of the enemies die but one of them dies as well. They retire back to the camp to deliver the news. Then something big happens that has everyone confused and one surprised. There two love lives that make the other sad. This books goes of the camp idea and used some of the campers from the Percy Jackson books.

But then she sees something by the Sound. . . . Cornelius has grown up in the ghetto and has learned to be tough. He's picked up many things on the streets and has lived off his wits and strength.
