The Age of Ultron is over. The Avengers expect a cool-down period. Clint has a happy family life (or so everyone thinks) and Natasha's alongside Captain America training the new Avenger recruits. What could be wrong?
Of course, the super spies can never catch a break. Both Clint and Natasha's past become uncovered along with Fury's plans. They endanger not only their friends and family, but each other as they try to avoid the repercussions of their sins.
Clint and Natasha only have each other's trust to hang onto as they venture into the past, the buried, the unknown... the dark.
** Note ** I don't want to skirt the Barton family in a common way by like killing off Laura or creating an AU. I'm going to work through this logically in a way that, if we really wanted to, could gloss over the Barton family in AoU. I will also work through the whole Bruce and Natasha catastrophe (in my opinion, of course). I assure you that everything will be thought through as logically as I possibly can in order to make this fit within the MCU. Please don't forget to vote and comment! Bruce Banner is still missing, Thor is off who-knows-where doing who-knows-what, and the Avengers are scattered. Nevertheless, she's perfectly okay with being alone. She always has been. Knowing that Steve is alone, however? It worries her. My life has been anything but normal. HYDRA killed my father than took me captive. They tortured me for years before a group called the Avengers saved me. Not even a month past by when they left me at an orphanage, thinking I would be safer there. Little did they know I wasn't safe anywhere. The girls and boys in the orphanage don't know a thing about my past and I intended to keep it that way. I'm now 14 and believe me, It was a strange eight years. I wish my parents could see me now so that I could show them the girl they gave away. They should never have left me behind. P.S Natasha and Clint did not have Harper when Clint was with Laura. Harper was born a few years before Clint met Laura. To clarify. when Harper is 16, Cooper is 10, Lila is 7 and Nathaniel is yet to be born. So Technically Harper is half-siblings with them all. She's got the looks, she's kind, she's rich. Mr Romanoff is a business magnate while Mrs Romanoff is the chairwoman of some high society club. They live in a mansion, with a swimming pool and a private chauffeur. She's got the perfect life, well almost. Natasha suffers from chronic heart failure, an illness that has plagued her since her childhood years. She spends most of her time checking in and out of the hospital, what she deems as causing trouble to others and for that, she's always apologetic. Truth be told, she's never gotten to use that swimming pool at her house. Luckily for her, she's got a supportive group of friends who are always there for her, especially when Joseph and his gang are out to bully her. Clint Barton is one such supportive friend in her group, although he evidently looks out for her way more than just a friend should. He's an orphan, his parents died in a car accident when he was 14, and since then, he's been taking on jobs while schooling at the same time to pay for his school fees. He lives by himself in a two-room apartment and he always feels he can do more for others even with his limited means. When Natasha's parents decide to take her to New Zealand to receive treatment, Clint doesn't know if he can live without seeing her everyday. Natasha soon slips into a coma after reaching New Zealand while a new charismatic friend joins her group back at school and seems to take an interest in Clint. Would Clint wait for her, or would he decide to move on?
