Before you read: This is more of a preview, as the story isn't anywhere near finished, and I have a lot more written than what is seen here. I'm taking a different approach on this kind of premise, because it isn't necessarily an apocalypse. I'm trying to carve a world that takes on the characteristics of a rose. Stories that take place after a nuclear war usually describe the aftermath as being barren, ugly, and poisonous. I'm not going for that. In my story, it's really quite lush and beautiful, but several times more dangerous. After all, every rose has its thorns. But my story is less about the world or environment, and more about the people and characters who live within it. The aim is to focus on them, their chemistry, and development. What good is a story anyway, if you don't care about the characters in it? Right now I know there isn't quite enough here to see the connections and to care about the relationships, but it is a start. Thank you for reading and I hope you enjoy it.

"You can kiss my foot, Mr. Bennett," Flora retorted, turning sharply to leave. But Alex only smirked, unbothered by her defiance. In a flash, his hand closed around her waist, hauling her back against him and pinning her to the wall. A gasp tore from her lips as his tall frame towered over hers. Trapped between the man and the cold wall, she had nowhere to run. "What are you doing?" she demanded, her voice trembling at the dangerous glint in his eyes. "Fulfilling your wishes, my flower," Alex murmured, his voice husky with dark amusement. "Although I would have preferred if you had said your ass." Then, he slowly lowered himself before her, his gaze never breaking from hers. His lips curved into something wicked as he whispered, "I have never knelt for any woman before. Yet one word from you brings me to my knees, woman." *** Flora Roberts thought divorce would free her from the cold cruelty of Jayden Kensington and the suffocating grip of his powerful family. She was wrong. When she flees Rockville for a fresh start in Crestview, she collides with the one man more dangerous than her ex-husband-Alexander Bennett. Ruthless, magnetic, and impossibly dominant, Alexander wants her...and Alexander never takes no for an answer. Author's Note: Expect every trigger possible. This is a rewritten version of Billionaires: Father or Son.
