"If I am going to die, I am going to die where I want, doing whatever comes to mind. I refuse to waste away like this." Hailee Mae Rose is a 21 year old, dying in a hospital room. Her life consists of taking pills, check ups, tests, watching tv, listening to music and doodling - when she can anyways - but she is constantly doing something that everyone learns to expect. Planning her escape. It's a hospital, but to her it's a prison. Her room, it's her cell. The doctors and nurses are the angry guards who always seem to be holding her back from freedom. And all she wants is freedom. Nathaniel Pierce is a 24 year old, also the CEO to a rising, well-known, company. His favorite thing in the world - as cliché as it is - is to party. He's quite good at it, making him enjoy it all the more. At a party of sorts, the two collide. To Nathaniel, Hailee is just another girl. To Hailee, Nathaniel is just another person - trapping her in a suffocating place. However, Hailee isn't just another girl. And Nathaniel isn't just another guard. This story sucks, don't read it! It's amazing how quickly your life can change. In a slow town like this, where nothing exciting ever happens, where nothing ever changes, one single moment can alter your life forever, for better, or for worse. Sometimes, we're lucky enough to be able to recognise these particular moments, and take a leap of faith, but, more times than not, they just happen without us even realizing what's going on until it's already too late. Tonight, a simple Saturday night, just like any other, would turn out to be one of the most defining moments of my life. Ace is living a slow life, knowing nothing other than drinking with his friends and the motorcycle club that raised him, waiting to reconnect with his father who has just been released from prison after a fifteen year sentence. Life is simple, though he thought. Until the night he meets Jenna, running from her haunting past and the man that she is desperately trying to escape. Ace is dead set on protecting Jenna, but, as she slowly learns to trust him enough to open up to, he finds himself landing in the middle of a human trafficking operation and a feud that goes way back, between the ringleader and his club. Suddenly, life doesn't seem so simple... Work in progress, especially the blurb! This story has content which may offend some readers. Mild coarse language! Physical and sexual violence! Lots of drug references! First draft! I don't own the cover image! I'm a disappointment to my family!
