Kara, it seems, is both the first and the last creature on the earth, she watched as the world was born, as kingdoms were built, and stood by as they fell, she had watched the age of technology and the advancements that were made, she stood by as the glaciers melted and most of the world was covered in water, she had lived in the under water city's of new Atlanta, then she had watched as human intelligence regressed and as the sun had died. The sun had burned out, and humanity had died out, only creatures of the night were left. In the thousands of years of silence she has not heard even a single human voice, but that alone didn't exclude the possibility of a hidden underground community. She had no love for the creatures who had ruined her home, burned her at the stake, shoved wooden stakes in her hollow chest, but yearned for the company of another soul.

Moth

They say the world used to turn. They say that night would follow day in an endless dance. They say that dawn rose, dusk fell, and we worshiped both sun and stars. That was a long time ago. The dance has died. The world has fallen still. We float through the heavens, one half always in light, one half always in shadow. Like the moth of our forests, one wing white and the other black, we are torn. My people are the fortunate. We live in daylight, blessed in the warmth of the sun. Yet across the line, the others lurk in eternal night, afraid... and alone in the dark. I was born in the light. I was sent into darkness. This is my story.
