There is a belief that a single change to history, albeit a small one, can change the outcome of life. For better, and for worse.
The United Kingdom, home to countries such as England, Scotland and Ireland, has transitioned into an imperialistic empire, known as Britannia. At first, it's colonies at America were going to expand the empire, but the Revolutionary War broke out, with the United States of America as the victor.
Nearly 200 years later, America thrives, especially after aiding other countries, such as Japan, Europe and the remnants of the true United Kingdom, during both World Wars. America was more on the benevolent side, rather than the boorish. Peace was the name of the game. In the timeframe of nearly 200 years, a coordinated assassination occurred. Both President John F. Kennedy and Vice President Lyndon B. Johnson were killed, in separate locations. Chaos broke out, and only one person was brave enough to take the helm: Max Daughtry.
Over the course of Daughtry's presidency, Britannia began to invade American airspace. Before Daughtry could warn the American populace of what was going on, his Vice President, Samuel Hawking, killed Daughtry, and told the Britannians to do as they pleased, as long as someone died. His wish was granted, as the Britannians tested their mass-produced, mechanized mobile weapon known as the Knightmare Frame on 50,000 defenseless people, taking their lives, without any sort of challenge.
Two years later, Britannia left America, leaving it in Hawking's capable hands. The result was absolute anarchy. Sadism, psychosis, madness, blood, violence, malevolence. These are but a few of the many words to describe the hell that was unleashed. Eight years later, Hawking is killed, and America is freed, their new President being one Seth Kimball.
Hawking may have been the greater threat, but Britannia will prove to be a more strategic challenge...

Chapter 1 extract:
"Hey Alex. Get over here. I've got something for you," he calls into his collar radio.
I reach the end of the alley and turn to face my foe once again, but he remains where he is, still blocking my path but not approaching either.
New plan: when he gets close, duck under his arms and make a run for it. Now I just have to wait.
Before a minute has even passed, another armoured soldier appears and joins the first. This just keeps getting worse. How am I supposed to dodge past two of them?
"What do you want now?" the new soldier grumbles. This one must be Alex.
"Look at this cute little human I found. She's feisty. I think she's perfect for you."
I glare at them.
"I don't want a pet human. That's your disgusting fetish, and I'll have no part in it."
"Oh come on Captain," the first soldier whines, "You don't have to fuck her, just train her to be obedient. Surely you can control one measly wild human? You are a captain after all. When you're done, you can just get rid of her, like I do with my humans."
What the fuck? For a brief moment my fear is replaced by anger. Who do they think they are, talking about me like I'm some kind of wild animal? "Get the fuck away from me! You freaks!" I screech.
The first soldier just flashes an evil grin. They don't budge. "Are you just going to let her talk to you like that?" he goads Alex.
