My Books and I

Books were the only friends she needed. This is what Jenni told herself when she felt lonely. Her walls were littered with every genre, every author. When everyone abandoned her, the collection began. She would pick up book after book, title after title, in search for new friends. When she looked at it that way, she had thousands of friends. All of them kept her company. Made her cry and laugh. They were all she needed. At least that's what she thought. Until she met Alex. The popular new kid.
