Vivian Roberts only wants to be a normal girl, which is nearly impossible because her mother, Alice, is insane. After years of hearing tales of Alice’s fantasy world called Wonderland, Vivian is offered a chance to go there by a business known as the Alterers, and to actually see what her mother had babbled about. After entering the Dream Machine-a teleporter created by the Alterers- along with her best friend, Roger, and many other children, Vivian realizes that Wonderland is not what it was in her mothers mind. Viv also learns that she has to make a choice- a choice to save the world or to give in and let the Alterers take over.
