Dear mom, I know you always did everything for me and I thank you for that. When dad left all you did was drink. You would only drink a few shots when I was around thank you for trying to protect me. I want you to know that I could always hear you downstairs and the items being knocked around. I could always hear you scream and cry. Now I am 16 and I can't buy a place. I can't move out so this was my best option. I ran away not because I hate you but because I love you and every time you looked at me you saw dad. To help you get better I want to leave. As I see my mom walk out the door I look at my dad smiling at me. The way he smiled at me made realize how afraid he was.
