We all have a purpose in life. It is to be a good person and do good things. It does not matter how the world views you and you don't have to prove anything to them. Money and fame don't last forever and as soon as it's gone so are the fake people with them. Instead try to concentrate on making yourself a better person and you will have a heart of gold. Most of us do not realize the importance of life and when we do it's too late. There is nothing wrong in having fun or being proud that you have an expensive car or you have a lot of money. But everything has it's limits.
This poem is about an old man who is going to die soon. As he lies on his deathbed he sees that there is only one person near him, his son. All the people that he once considered as family and friends are all gone and don't care that he's going to die as he has nothing left.
He asks his son to come near him and tells him about how life is a sacred gift and time is precious so don't waste it like he did.
