This story starts in the late summer of 2016. "Well, I found Landslide while I was in a toxic relationship a couple of years ago, and it made me realize that I didn't need him to continue on with my life, even though he was a big part of it, so I guess it kinda stuck with me." I take a step toward her anyway, rain dripping from my eyelashes, my chest hollow. "I don't care if it kills me," I say, and it's not bravado; it's a man with nothing left to barter. "If that's the price, fine. At least then I get to be with you before it ends." She makes a small sound, half sob, half laugh, and it's the most human thing I've ever heard from her. "Don't say that," she whispers, almost fierce. "Don't ever say that." She holds my eyes for one last beat, lips parted like she might say something else - something that could undo all of this, something that could make the rain stop mattering. But she doesn't. Instead, she exhales, low and unsteady, and shakes her head. "I'm sorry," she says again, softer now, like a confession. Then she turns. And that's it.

My pants deserve to be forever on fire with the lies I've told. But it never meant to start out as a lie. It started with me, and stupid me was in love with my best friend since forever. Since its one of those cliche, cheesy stories, my best friend doesn't know that I am hopelessly and completely in love with him but everybody else knows. I was too much of a coward to tell him how I felt, so when I told him my 'sister' was coming to town, I decided to take her place. I never meant it to go this far, but it did. The last time she had seen him, he had just a slight tuft of blonde but his hair had grown out enough to cut it and now it was all back to his natural color. Having always hated the blonde, she found herself more attracted to him; more aroused. He didn't look like a kid anymore. He looked like a man.... He sat down before taking the drink she had ordered for him. She watched his throat as he swallowed the burning liquid. The bob of his Adam's apple made her almost bite her bottom lip at how hot it was. He never winced when he drank any hard liquor, which made him all the more attractive to her. He could take a drink the way she took him.... She laced an arm around his neck, running her hand through his hair and twirling a strand around her finger before tugging on it a little. She leaned in and began placing kisses along his neck. She felt him shudder a little at the sudden contact. Feeling the goosebumps forming along his skin, she bit at the spot along his jawline that was one of his sensitive spots. She felt him as he placed his hand on her leg and drag it up her thigh. She bit at him again as his grip on her tightened. She was so close to him that she heard his breath catch and falter in his throat... She could feel his breath on her neck and she let a shudder move up her spine. She felt him smile against her skin, pleased that he had this effect on her... Bringing her mouth to his ear, she whispered, "We should take this back to my place." Without a word, he paid for their drinks and they left...Complete

I twirled her around and pulled her back to me as I began to sing softly into her ear, "If the whole world was watching, I'd still dance with you; Drive highways and byways to be there with you. [completed.] It was suppose to be a normal summer for me. Nothing more than staying home doing nothing but hanging out with my “friends”. But no, why would my life be simple like that. I mean, at first, I was not upset at the offer I received, but when the lie slipped out, it was more than enough to push me over the edge. And then they had the nerve to come back and try to make things better? Ha. No. So when I finally went on a bucket-list adventure, history repeated itself and I was stuck in the same situation I was before. Only this time, he was fighting for my love. But I was stubborn, stuck on old ways, and refused to let him back in. But he never gave up, and that is something I still admire to this day. For some reason, my love was worth the fight. Our love was worth everything. You had made the worst mistake, for which you were locked up in a psychiatric hospital for 60 years. After all that time, you don't receive or have any contact with him again, until one day he looks for you there and asks you, "Why did you do it?" (She was expecting his child). But you answer: that you have a child with him. That changes everything! Now you meet in your younger versions: he can't believe it, but now all the memories come flooding back, and what happened the night before the grand finale, and why you acted that way that day, in that finale after the show.
