16 year old Emma's life was almost perfect. Almost. Until her dad's company in California started to go bankrupt. He came home drunk, almost every night and physically abused Emma and her mother. In the middle of the school year, her mother takes Emma and her younger sister, Jessa, and leaves their dad in California without his knowing. They come to a town called Timber Ridge, Georgia. Here, Emma is approached by Jacob, the all-state football "jock." He said he wants to get to know her, but is that really all he wants?
