Superheroes,magic beings, mutants, alphas, or just whatever you want to call them. They exist. Believe it or not. Sometimes these beings are born with powers, sometimes something happens to where they obtain them. Fact of the matter is, they are real and if they're lucky, they get called in to the academy and get taught how to use their powers. Now this is a story about 2 Very important heroes, who will eventually save the world

Every city has its claim to fame and for the city of Cytropolis it's their superheroes. But unlike the cities of Gotham and Central City, this isn't a good thing. Cytropolis is known far and wide as the city with the clumsiest and least influential superheroes ever. But it never mattered that much since the super villains were just as bad. That is, until recently when the villains decided to smarten up and open a super villain academy to train the newest generation (something that never occurred to the heroes). Luckily for them, Matt Miller has arrived. He may seem like an average, normal (even bordering on boring) seventeen-year-old boy, but when are things ever what they seem? He may be apathetic and bitter but he has super powers and he's kind of, well, powerful. He's the heroes only hope against the newest villain in town, Sinister Shadow, and he has no choice but to lend a hand (but he refuses to wear tights while he does it, he draws the line at tights). Now It's all left to him and others like him to save the world from that which has been awakened and to stop he whom awakened it.

Shortlisted for the Open Novella Contest 2019 • Being a Supervillain is tough. Between managing a secret lair and making sure your mom doesn't stop loving you because you keep telling everyone she's dead, it's a really hard business to be good at? Add to that, the fact that somehow you got arrested because your cat sitter didn't take the day off and then you go around expressing your unconditional love for pancakes in a Super holding cell because technically they can't put you in a proper prison and you don't really have a choice because lawyers are expensive? And then, you realise your best friend is plotting go take over your spot as the greatest villain there ever was? Okay, maybe not the greatest, but you do come pretty close to it! To top it off, there's that one Superhero who's just so completely gorgeous, you couldn't imagine any harm coming to them? Because they're just that precious? I guess that makes me a Supervillain with minor time travel superpowers and a huge crush on a not so powerful Superhero? And all you have to do is protect yourself and everyone you love from your ex best friend/sidekick --because let's face it that's the highest level of praise for a wretched traitor here--and you also have to get out of Super Holding somehow? What could go wrong? Right?

Two people fall in love in unlikely circumstances. They have a lot of psychological issues and mistrusts in the order of things to prevent them from finding themselves and each other. I am a reader of crime novels and hard science fiction almost exclusively, and yet this story, which I have been writing for a long time, is a love story, I can't explain it even to myself. The characters will have to work through hardship and evolve to be able to surrender to the magical things around them and the flow of the universe and the love of other people. This story still is a work in progress, it has holes and it is to be continued

Who will be there to help them on their journey? Or will they just have to tackle this on their own? Will they be able to rise to the responsibility? Or will they just crash and burn?

My Misconceptions by ALonelyEcho

As an orphan, Emma Johnson never exactly believed in miracles or magic of any kind. Or even the proclaimed superheroes everyone loved. That all changed the fateful night when she was mugged and attacked. At that point in her life, she had come to the conclusion that she wouldn't amount to much, and as she lied half-conscious on the ground, she couldn't help but think that she deserved this kind of death. She didn't want it, but it seemed appropriate to someone with nothing to call her own. Then in swoops in her own personal superman, saving her and taking her back to his place where she wakes up the next day. She is then surprised to find that everything she thought was fake before, was suddenly coming to life before her eyes.
