In this new place, she meets quite peculiar... people. Thrusted into a world she once thought was a myth, she has to learn to trust her instincts more so than ever.

Edie thinks she is human. She has never been told otherwise. Not by the elderly aunt who raised her, and not by anyone else. But it isn't until her aunt passes away from illness that Edie learns that there is far more to the bedtime stories she was told as a child... Guided only by the notes her aunt left behind and her questionable instincts, Edie finds herself thrust into the middle of supernatural conflict that leaves her questioning everything she has ever known. Soon Edie learns that her mother was a werewolf, and her father a human, neither able to give her the guidance and answers she desperately needs after they were murdered for their unconscionable union between species. Fiercely determined and independent, her journey lands her into the arms of her mate, a dark and moody Phelan Reyes. Unbeknownst to Edie, he has always been watching her from afar, protecting her from those who seek to exploit her hybridity. When she finds her way to him, Phelan cannot mark Edie to protect her. The process is toxic for humans, so there is no mind-link. No capacity for her to shift. And no way to protect her. Her hybridity is unheard of- and Phelan has to fight his own internal battles to make her his due to the risks involved. Add in a human ex-boyfriend who is determined to find her, and the werewolf council The Guild who will stop at nothing to ensure her mutation is ended once and for all, Edie finds herself on an adventure that is far more than she ever bargained for... Lui has accomplished countless feats since becoming Alpha, leading his pack with strength and determination. But there's one thing he's never succeeded in.. finding his mate. After years of searching in the shadows, he uncovers a devastating truth: his fated mate has been hiding right under his nose, concealed within his own pack. With a heart full of longing, he's determined to bring her into the light, ready to confront the fears that have kept her hidden. _________ A low, husky voice brushed past her right ear like a whisper, sending shivers down her spine. "Sera..." She flinched, the sound wrapping around her like a thick fog. He was close--too close. She didn't need to turn around to know who it was. The person she had been desperately trying to avoid. The only guy who could make her feel alive and terrified all at once. With her heart racing, she took a deep breath, trying to steady herself. "This isn't happening", she told herself. The tension in her body grew, every nerve on edge as the air around her seemed to thicken. Then, in that same low, husky voice, she heard it again, softer this time, but unmistakable. "Mate..."
