IAN IS AFRAID. Fifteen-year-old Ian Viral has had strange powers since he was a kid. His three brothers shunned him, acting like he was a freak, or simply pretending he didn't exist. He had been born sickly and weak, while the rest of his family were strong - natural-born warriors, almost. Ian is sent on a journey when he decides to run away, and the journey leads him somewhere he never expected... LEO IS A KLUTZ. At just sixteen, Leo has almost been kicked out of his house - twice. His mother hates him and doesn't want anything to do with him. Having been without his father - whoever he was - since he was three, he's had to deal with stepfather after stepfather - and they all had left because of him, swearing that Leo had some kind of power and was trying to kill them. After being sent to boarding school by his mother, he catches the eye of a teacher - and that teacher would send him off to the one place that he is safe.
