My name is Ashlynn Valdez, and I have a recently discovered secret: I'm a demigod. My friend, Annabeth Chase, told me at school in our special place and started explaining all the stuff I already knew about the Greek and Roman gods and goddesses. And the camp she goes to every summer. That part peeked my interest. My past has been forgotten, though. I don't remember anything past a burning building and running from it. And family? I only remember my deceased mother. My father left us, that much I knew. But that's it.
